Framework Interpretation
Monday, March 3rd, 2008I haven’t been able to post recently since we just moved. We still live in the City of LA but now in the community of Northridge. Our house is definitely an amazing gift from the Lord.
Anyway, I came across something I wrote in 1998 for the Journal of the American Scientific Affiliation (now called Perspectives on Science and Christian Faith). It’s a review of Douglas Kelly’s book Creation and Change published by Mentor in 1997. In that book Kelly criticizes the framework interpretation on two grounds: (1) it allegedly undercuts the factual historicity of the creation narrative and (2) it might lead to liberalism. As you can imagine, I didn’t think his arguments held much water. I thought I would pass the link along to you.

One more link. In 2001 I gave a lecture on the topic at a Veritas Forum at UCLA. You can watch the video or listen to the audio here.
